Can I just add sugar to a pie dough recipe to make it work for a dessert pie? (It’s originally for a chicken pot pie)

I finally found a pie crust recipe that was super easy for me to make as a novice/home cook, but it’s for a savory dough, not sweet. Currently it asks for: 1/2 cup sour cream 1 egg lightly beaten 2 1/2 cups flour 1 1/2 tsp salt 12 Tb butter cut into 12 pieces If I wanted to use it for a pumpkin, apple or pecan pie, can I just add some sugar or powdered sugar? And if so, what amount would you suggest? I have tried a few other dessert pie crust recipes, but nothing is as easy for me as this one that I stumbled onto for making dinner one night. submitted by /u/Satchya1 [link] [comments]
