Completionists, do you use a guide for collectibles?

I was having a discussion with someone about getting 100% in games. They said if you use a guide for collectibles it doesn't count. They're empty achievements. I see the point they're making, but time is precious and I don't want to spend countless hours slogging through dungeons and/or the overworld searching and re-searching every nook and cranny. I just wanted 550 on the achievements. This came about when I was playing Darksiders 2, which has over 100 collectibles. I got as many as I could on my first playthrough, and used a guide to get everything in NG+. I much preferred Darksiders 1, where toward the end of the game you could get an ability that shows you collectibles locations on the map. Saints Row: the Third had something similar. How do you feel about it? submitted by /u/crazyjeffy [link] [comments]
