Could I transform this crustless pumpkin pie into a crustless lemon pie? What's the best way to do it?

I really love this crustless pumpkin pie recipe. I've made a modified version of it at least a dozen times. Do you think I could substitute pureed lemon for pureed pumpkin and get a decent crustless lemon pie? I imagine that a one-to-one substitution of lemon for pumpkin would end up too sour.
