/r/Games End of 2021 - Biggest Surprises

Hello folks its near the end of 2021 and with that we'd like to kick off a special series of posts where the community discusses and votes on 2021 game releases for various categories. Category 1: Biggest Surprises What games came out this year that genuinely surprised you at how good (or bad) they were? Something that you picked up on a whim or recommendation not expecting much but were blown away or severely disappointed? Format If you would like to nominate a game, please leave a top level comment at the root of this submission with the game name in bold. You can accomplish that by surrounding the name with asterisks like so: **Game Name** In addition, please follow up with a short summary as to why you think the game fits into this category. Comments without description/rationale will likely automatically be removed by Automoderator for being too short and they don't generate healthy discussion. Voting At the end of the month, we will have a bot come through these threads that scrapes all top level comments that match the above format (its just going to look for strings inside of double asterisks). We will determine the winner by counting the vote total (upvotes with vote ratio applied) on a given comment. If there are 2 or more entries for the same game, we will combine the scores between the multiple comments so that folks don't need to worry about votes being split. Feedback If you think there is a more sensible way to determine the winner of a given category shoot us a message in modmail or drop a message under the stickied comment in this thread. If you have any specific category suggestions, drop a message under the stickied comment as well. Thanks! submitted by /u/rGamesMods [link] [comments]
